Canadian involvement in U.S. missile defence would undermine decades of Canadian efforts to rid the world of nuclear weapons. アメリカのミサイル防衛に積極的に日本が参加することは、日本が世界の核兵器廃絶の努力を何十年もしてきた土台を崩すことになるでしょう。
It would represent our acquiescence and willingness to become an active participant in a permanent nuclear future. それは、永久的に核兵器が存続する未来で積極的な参加になることを私たちが黙諾し意欲を表すことになるでしょう。
As such, it would directly collide with the wishes of the Canadian people, who have expressed overwhelming support for nuclear disarmament. そのようなことをすれば、核軍縮の圧倒的な支持をしてきた日本人の人々の願望を打ち砕くことになるでしょう。
True security can only be achieved by establishing relationships of mutual respect and co-operation, free of exploitation, with nations and peoples throughout the world. 真の安全は世界中の国々と人々が互いにリスペクトし合い、自由経済の下で協力関係を築くことのみで達成できるのです。

３ Will the missile shield place weapons in space, as former president Ronald Reagan's controversial Star Wars program would have done? ロナルド・レーガン元大統領の論争を呼んだスターウォーズ計画のようにミサイルの盾は宇宙にも設置されるのですか？
